Three Types Of Financial Aid
Grants: Financial aid that students do not have to repay.
Loans: Borrowed money that students must repay with interest.
Work-study: Lets students work and earn money to help pay for school.
The Hazlewood Act: a state of Texas benefit that provides qualified Veterans, spouses, and dependent children with an educatin benefit of up to 150 hours of tuition exemption, including most fee charges, at public institutions of higher education in Texas. This does NOT include living expenses, books, or supply fees.
Application Process:
Set up your personal Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) to access, complete, and submit the FAFSA online.
You and your parent will need a FAFSA ID.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at Visit FAFSA
When to Apply:

Undergraduates may receive all three types of financial aid. Not all schools participate in the Federal Student Aid Program or take part in all programs. To find out which programs (if any) are available, contact the financial aid office at the school you plan to attend.

Go To Their Website And Access Their Financial Aid/scholarships/grants/etc...
FAFSA is a "first come, first serve" federal financial aid program - apply early to ensure access to funds
The deadline for the State of Texas is January 15, 2023 (if you plan to attend starting Fall semester 2023)
